Kaela Berg is running for the Mn House of Representatives in 55B, she is endorsed by the DFL Environmental Caucus.
Addressing climate change is one of Kaela’s top priorities with the fight to move us away from fossil fuels and into cleaner energy options her focus. This has earned Kaela’s endorsement by the DFL Environmental Caucus. Kaela recognizes the opportunity to create good jobs with fair wages in clean energy. One example of her commitment is her chief authorship of a bill to assess carbon emissions of companies and use that money to promote energy efficiency and renewable energy projects. @KaelaBerg
Representative Robert Bierman is running for reelection in House District 56A, he is endorsed by the DFL Environmental Caucus.
Representative Bierman is a member of the House Climate and Energy Finance and Policy committee and a leader in fighting the climate crisis. He has introduced legislation to establish tax credits for the purchase and installation of solar energy systems, fund the installation of pre-weatherization measures in eligible low-income households, and require the installation of electric vehicle charging station in state parks.
Representative Liz Boldon is running for Senate in District 25. Liz states that the climate crisis is an existential threat to our state and our health. This crisis compounds every problem in our community in addition to creating new and bigger problems. We are experiencing higher temperatures, more extreme storms, increased health costs, and increased costs for infrastructure repair and maintenance. We are witnessing the collapse of irreplaceable ecosystems that power our economies. This crisis affects all Minnesotans. The rich are able to shield themselves from the worst consequences while the rest of us and a disproportionate number of Black, brown, and indigenous communities suffer the most serious aspects of the climate crisis. Bold action now can effectively change these outcomes.
We have the power, ingenuity, and resources needed right now to mitigate, manage, and mount a successful and economy building response to the climate crisis. Solutions are ready now, they only need to be implemented. I am all in on proposing and passing climate crisis mitigation and adaptation legislation. I believe that all Minnesotans deserve clean air to breathe, clean water to drink, and a healthy place to call home. All of these are threatened by the climate crisis and all can be addressed in an impactful way building resilience, creating jobs, and raising the standard of living for Minnesotans.
I will fight to bring Minnesota to the front of the alternative energy economy with bold ideas and legislation. I will boldly fight to make Minnesota a climate crisis solution state. My Minnesota solutions to the climate crisis will effectively provide jobs, protect ecosystems, empower people and grow the economy.
Aleta Borrud is running for Senate in SD 24 and is endorsed by the DFL Environmental Caucus!
Aleta is a physician with public health training with the Mayo clinic. This and her extraordinary ties to the land distinguish her candidacy. She witnessed land being destroyed by the Bakken oil fields while living on the North Dakota prairie and, after inheriting the family farm, learned about the importance of soil health in her involvement with the Land Steward Project. She now shares regenerative farming techniques with North Dakota farmers dealing with soil erosion, droughts and floods, skills that will help her succeed in the agricultural areas of her new district – Aleta lost her 2020 election bid by just 900 votes. Aleta impressed us with her knowledge of the environmental justice issues her district faces, and the solutions. She also wants Minnesota to become an EV leader, building an electric truck fleet to provide good paying union jobs and improve air quality. And she would love to serve on the Agriculture Committee and pass legislation that helps farmers improve their soil. We would love to see her do just that!
Nathan Coulter for House 51 B Energy and Environment – Climate change is an existential threat. We need bold action that reduces greenhouse gas emissions and puts us on a path to mitigating it – frankly, we needed it years ago. I was proud to support a resolution on the City Council declaring a climate emergency and committing the City of Bloomington to take those bold actions. The State of Minnesota can make bold energy infrastructure investments in electric vehicle charging stations and solar and wind facilities, and reduce the need for Minnesotans to drive cars everywhere they go. We have made it easier in Bloomington for residents to put solar panels on their homes, and are working to do so on city facilities. We’ve also adopted a Time of Sale Energy Disclosure ordinance, giving residents the information needed to make their own homes more energy efficient. The House DFL Climate Action Plan is an exciting proposal, and I look forward to working with my colleagues to advance it. There is absolutely no reason that we have to choose between good-paying jobs and protecting our environment, and we shouldn’t be stuck with this false dichotomy.
Congresswoman Angie Craig, CD 2, she is endorsed by the DFL Environmental Caucus.
Angie is running for reelection to Congress. Angie believes we can lower our carbon emissions, build an energy infrastructure that relies less on fossil fuels and attract and advance the industries of the future — and become a world leader in green innovation at the same time. She has worked across the aisle to find solutions that make progress for the environment, the economy and for future generations. Her first bill is a bipartisan effort to give local communities the funding they need to address runoff pollution enhanced by rapidly melting snow and rain. She is also co-sponsoring the bipartisan Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act, which will reduce the nation’s carbon emissions, unleash technological innovation and create new jobs.
Mary Frances Clardy HD53A (Inver Grove Heights, West St. Paul, Mendota Heights, Sunfish Lake)
Mary Francis considers climate change an existential threat to life on our planet and believes we must pursue all forms of clean energy ASAP. She supports mandating that our utilities be carbon free by 2040. She understands that low income and BIPOC communities remain underrepresented in environmental policy discussions and will work to change that. Mary Francis is also a strong supporter of “Prove it First” legislation, arguing that Minnesotans should not be “guinea pigs” for foreign-owned mining interests. The DFL Environmental Caucus proudly endorses Mary Frances Clardy for House District 53A.

Keith Ellison for Attorney General. The DFLEC proudly endorses MN Attorney General Keith Ellison. While in office as Attorney General, he has joined a coalition of 22 states, territories, and local governments in filing a lawsuit that challenges the Trump Administration’s unlawful final rule curtailing environmental review of federal actions under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). The DFLEC has been a staunch opponent to any rollbacks of the environmental review and permitting process and we commend him for his action on this lawsuit. Also, in another great feat of environmental advocacy, his office has sued Exxon, Koch Industries, and the American Petroleum Institute over claims that the oil and gas companies violated Minnesota laws against consumer fraud, deceptive trade practices and false statements in advertising.
Senator Omar Fateh is seeking reelection in Minnesota Senate District 62 he is endorsed by the DFL Environmental Caucus.
Sen. Omar Fateh is a climate champion, supporting clean electricity, carbon pricing and vehicle electrification, while opposing new fossil fuel infrastructure. He supports Prove it First legislation, wild rice protection, and the Move on from Polymet campaign. Clarice Grabau SD58 (Northfield, Farmington, Hampton, Lonsdale, parts of New Prague)
As a member of the Northfield City Council and a past member of the Northfield Climate Action Plan Advisory Committee, Clarice played a key role in the city’s landmark efforts to develop one of the state’s most ambitious climate action plans. She understands well that successful state and national actions will require a multifaceted, multijurisdictional approach involving local, state and federal collaboration to move first to carbon-free electricity and then to carbon-free energy. She also understands that climate change affects people of color, low income residents, and vulnerable populations disproportionately, and that our transition to a carbon-free economy must include initiatives that lessen these impacts. The caucus wholeheartedly endorses her candidacy.
Heather Gustafson is running for Senate in District 36
Heather is a high school history teacher with 4 kids of her own. When she tried to get her city council to become a Green Step City and the mayor blocked it, Heather decided it was time for more people to get “political.” She is connected with the NE Metro Climate Action group and is a strong community organizer who will be a great asset in the senate. As Heather put it, “This is no time to be scared, we have to get to work.” We agree.

Larry Kraft for House 46A addressing climate change is what inspires me to be involved in public service. If we don’t get climate right, it will continue to make every other issue worse. Climate change is also a tremendous opportunity to generate good jobs, to clean our water and air, to improve our health, and to deepen and restore our relationship with the natural world. As the impacts of climate change fall disproportionately on the least advantaged among us, climate investments also must address the inequalities caused by the fossil fuel economy.

Minnesota is already on the cutting edge of renewable energy. Kelly believes that we should work to lead the nation toward a renewable energy standard, while creating thousands of 21st century jobs in wind and solar power right here in our state. We must set ambitious goals to reduce our carbon emissions as we confront the climate crisis.
As a 6th generation Minnesotan, Kelly is proud of our state’s history of protecting our lakes, rivers, and wetlands, and believes that we need to continue that legacy for generations to come.
Minnesota is already on the cutting edge of renewable energy. Kelly believes that we should work to lead the nation toward a renewable energy standard, while creating thousands of quality 21st century jobs in wind and solar power right here in our state.
Protecting pollinators and moving away from the use of dangerous pesticides are also priorities of Kelly’s.

Global climate change is affecting every part of the world, including Minnesota. In the last several years, Northern Minnesota has dealt with significant drought, massive forest fires and damaging floods. The science is clear: these issues will get worse unless we take urgent action.
I see an amazing opportunity for Northern Minnesota to be at the forefront of addressing climate change.
Andy Smith for HD 25B
All my life I’ve heard politicians calling for climate action to preserve the world for their “kids and grandkids.” Unfortunately, previous generations have not taken the steps needed to prevent climate change’s catastrophic impacts. Environmental change is no longer a theoretical or future problem, but an existential threat. We need to take drastic action as a state to divest from fossil fuels, invest in green technologies that create new jobs, support infrastructure encouraging public transportation, and protect the beautiful Minnesota environment.
I promise that in office I will prioritize immediate action, challenging even my DFL colleagues to better address climate change. https://www.andysmithmn.com/climate-action
Laurel Stinson HD20A (Red Wing, Lake City, Wabasha, Goodhue, Cannon Falls)
As a member of the Red Wing City Council, Laurel helped craft a city resolution declaring racism a public health emergency, with the goal to draw attention to the ways marginalized people often lack a seat at the table, including on environmental matters. We agree with Laurel and proudly endorse her candidacy to the Minnesota House.

Mary also supports Prove it First, building infrastructure and incentives for EV cars, and wind and solar expansion that will boost rural economies.
